Whitening of teeth depends on the shade of your teeth to begin with and why they are the color they are. The most effective way for yellow or brown colored teeth is to use whitening gels, available at our office. There are other commercially available methods, such as strips, that use less powerful bleaching components and may not be as effective as the bleach used from our office. Toothpastes are also available that help to polish and give a bleaching effect to teeth.
Teeth usually lose the numb feeling first, after being worked on, about an hour to 90 minutes after. The gums, lips, cheeks, chin, and tongue, can be numb for up to 5 hours after treatment. The duration of numbness varies from person to person and may be longer or shorter.
Most of our patients have little to no problems after they have a deep periodontal cleaning (also known as Scaling and Root Planing). There may be a soreness around the gums, which is usually handled by taking Ibuprofen when you get home after your cleaning. Your teeth may have some increased cold sensitivity for a couple of days, as your gums heal and get back to normal.
Dental visits used to be a thing of great anxiety, stress, and discomfort. This can be a thing of the past for you. We strive to make each visit your best dental visit ever. Our office and team are warm, inviting, and seek to make things comfortable. Dr. Fairbourn makes sure to get you and your teeth comfortable before treating your needs. Occasionally, a simple medication prescribed by your physician, can be used to help calm a person to let them be more relaxed and at ease during their treatment. This is taken before your appointment. Dr. Fairbourn and his team are more than happy to discuss this with you at your first or next visit.
We see patients of all ages, including children.
Even with a shortage of dental hygienists, we are accepting new patients and welcome you to our dental family.
We accept all PPO insurance plans and are preferred providers on most. A list of insurances we most regularly use can be found here. If you do not see us listed by your insurance company we are happy to help. We can also bill to your insurance even if we are not in network, however there may be additional costs to you, based on your plan.
We do offer some payment options. The option for this depends on treatment involved and cost. The possibility for payment plans can be discussed at your visit to see what treatment is recommended for you. We also offer CareCredit for financing dental treatment that you may require or desire.
We do offer a 5% discount to patients without insurance that are paying in full in cash, the same day as their dental treatment.
